President Trump took another swipe at Prince Harry’s fiancée Meghan Markle in a CBS News interview Friday morning.
“No one knows who she is, and she’s just a lightening rod for all of the criticism that the press is able to find because she’s a woman, she’s a divorced woman, she’s from Hollywood,” Trump said.
Trump took aim at Markle’s reputation and status in Hollywood, where a significant number of people believe the Emmy winner to be a member of the “black community” who wants “to be a white royal.”
Harry and Markle were reportedly set to get married in May next year in London.
Harry previously spoke out about the wedding, telling an audience in 2015 that his mother, Princess Diana, would be “thrilled” to see the young couple getting married.
“She used to talk about how important it was that both Harry and I had happy marriages,” he said.
Harry married actress and humanitarian Meghan Markle last month in front of 600 guests at Windsor Castle.
A car carrying Markle and the couple’s dogs arrived at Buckingham Palace early Friday afternoon to prepare to move the dogs to a new home in the London area.
“I’m shocked I made it that far,” Markle joked as they moved the dog crate.
The couple is staying in the U.K. while Harry is fulfilling his military duties. They will be starting their life together at Frogmore Cottage, in the grounds of Windsor Castle.
